Every morning while I am still laying in bed, I can hear laughter and giggling come from downstairs as Andrew and Jordan watch Funniest Home Videos at 6:00 in the morning while they eat breakfast together.  It's a fun little thing they do together and it's a good thing Andrew's a morning person because Jordan has always been an early riser.  We've had a couple of episodes lately with Jordan that have resulted from watching this show every morning.

One morning I woke up to the sounds of Darth Vader in my room.  I opened my eyes to see Jordan decked out with his Darth Vader mask on.  When I asked him about it he said he saw a boy wake up his brother like that on Funniest Home Videos and it really scared his little brother.  I think he was a little disappointed that it didn't have the same effect on me.  He keeps telling Andrew and me that sometime in the middle of the night he's going to do it and REALLY scare us.

The other night at dinner he took a piece of tomato out of his salad and was pretending it was talking and then he squeezed it like it was throwing up....something he saw on Funniest Home Videos.

While my mom was watching him one afternoon he ran up to her, so excited to show her a roly-poly bug he had found outside.  He then promptly put it in his mouth.  It shocked my mom and she quickly had him spit it out.  She told me about it and I thought it was weird that he had done that, but forgot to ask him about it.   A couple days later at dinner he busted up laughing out of the blue.  I asked him what he was laughing about and he told me about sticking the bug in his mouth and how it had surprised Grandma.  When I asked him about why he had done that...you guessed it....Funniest Home Videos!!!!

The month of June

We started out the month with field trip to the zoo.  I went as a chaperone and there were so many parents there that Jordan was the only one in my group. We had a fun day, just the 2 of us.  I love that he still wants to hold my hand, which I take advantage of at every opportunity.

We were caught in a downpour, but Jordan found the perfect spot to wait it out.

Megan turned 4!!!!!  We had a party with the Stout cousins......

....and a party with the Bolles cousins!!

I love her face in this picture!!!

Once again I scored on finding the perfect gift....Dora and 2 babies!!

The kids helped me make breakfast in bed for Andrew on Father's Day...and helped him eat it too!!!!  They sucked down that cup of hot chocolate in about 5 seconds.

Memorial Day Weekend

On my previous post, I mentioned that Megan was sick and unable to go the cabin so the boys had left without us.  Luckily she perked up later in the day after a long nap, which she woke up from excitedly exclaiming, "I'm hungry, let's go to Burger King!!!"  We headed up in the morning to join the boys to find that they had a hard time getting to the cabin the day before, as there was an avalanche at the top of the pass and the road was closed.  They ended up driving over a different pass to bypass the avalanche, which was about a 2 hour detour.  It left me feeling a little relieved that Megan and I had stayed home so I could avoid that whole fiasco.  The cabin was a fun time as always, a little cold, but not raining.  Here are some pictures of our adventures.....

Jordan finally got to go on the long-anticipated horse ride he's been talking about the past few months.

This is Megan's tear-streaked face after being on the horse for about 5 seconds.  She says maybe when she's 5 she'll be ready....we shall see.

Andrew and Adam went on a "drive,"  which always involves some kind of disaster...getting stuck in the snow or blowing out a tire.  Something always happens on these adventures.  I thought maybe having the 2 little girls with them this time would prevent this from happening....to no avail.

We played lots of games.

Jordan's diet consisted of marshmallows and hot dogs roasted over the fire.
