Pumpkin Carving

These kiddos are lucky to have such a talented daddy that can carve whatever idea they come up with.  This year it was a princess and an angry bird.

One last cabin trip

Andrew took the kids to the cabin for a little overnighter while I stayed home with Austin.  They had lot of adventures which included: having a chimney fire, going to Raven's Roost, playing in the snow, eating lots of junk food and just being together.  Andrew told me that all throughout the trip they kept saying, "You're the best dad in the whole entire world!"  Soon the cabin will be covered in snow and the long wait begins until spring.  We can't wait to see what adventures await us next year and what fun memories we will make...love the cabin!!!!!

Austin's Blessing Day

Austin's blessing day was truly a blessed day.  It brought tears to my eyes to see this tiny, precious life being surrounded by stalwart priesthood holders...a father, uncles and grandpas.  Austin did great and didn't make a peep.  It was a beautiful blessing for this precious little one...what a wonderful life he has ahead of him.

I had a little "Marianne moment" on Austin's blessing day after church when we all came back to the house for lunch.  I was nursing Austin in his room and was listening to everyone talking and laughing downstairs.  As I was sitting there, this quilt caught my eye and I suddenly became aware of a missing voice.  Marianne had made this quilt before she passed away and Mom found it among her things.  I thought about her making this quilt for a baby she knew she would never meet and how much she would have loved Austin. What a special treasure Austin will have to remind him of his angel Auntie who loved him long before he was born.

Back to School

I just got Megan on the bus for her first day of Kindergarten. No tears from this girl....she's been anticipating this day since she saw Jordan do the same thing 2 years ago, when she left the bus stop in tears seeing that she was missing out on all the fun and excitement. I'm going to enjoy this quiet house while it lasts....next adventure begins 1 week from today!!!!

Summer Recap

For some reason my blog hasn't been letting me make new posts for the past few months. I don't know why it did this, but miraculously it let me on today so I'm going to do a recap of the summer.

Megan turned 5

Megan Graduated from Preschool

Grandma Sally's Teddy Bear Picnic

Auntie Noel came for a visit

Megan and Lily got their ears pierced

Jordan lost his first tooth....and then proceeded to loose all 4 front teeth before school started

We spent fun days at the cabin and the kids went on an overnight campout with Daddy and cousins

Megan got stung by a bee as she was headed out on her last horseback ride of the summer right before we left to go home.  The Benadryl knocked her right out.

What have I been up to this summer?  This picture sums it up........

Austin is coming in 1 week.  I made it through a hot summer and managed to keep these kiddos busy with swim lessons, trips to the park and summer movies.  I realized putting these pictures up that I am not in any of them, but I was definitely there, doing my best to keep up with it all.  We are all excited for this new little one to enter our family and for this next adventure to begin!!!!
