Cousins make the best friends

Megan and Lily have been spending a lot of time together.  Whenever they get picked up at preschool they ask if they can keep playing at one of their houses, so they pretty much spend 3 days together every week.  They play just like sisters, they're either "on" or "off," but as Lily explained to Alison the other day, "Even when me and Megan are fighting, we still love each other."...sure sounds a lot like sisters to me.

A Baby! A Baby! We're having a Baby!!!!

We broke the news to the kids a few days ago that a new baby will be joining our family in September.  I showed them the picture of the ultrasound and asked if they could tell what it was.  They both looked very confused, and so I had Jordan read the word written in the corner of the picture.  It took him a few minutes of quietly sounding it out, until out the word came..."baby."  He said it very quietly and the kids both looked at me with shocked look on their faces...like does this mean what I think it means.  I told them there was a baby in my tummy and they both started laughing and cheering.  We looked through the calendar to see all the days that had to pass before the baby was ready to come out.  It must have made an impression because the next day Megan's preschool teacher told me that after Megan had excitedly told her the news that a baby was in her Mommy's tummy, her teacher asked her, "Well, when is the baby coming?"  Megan replied, "Well, I'm not really sure, but I think it's going to take a very long time.  We have to go through the whole entire calendar first!"  Let the long wait begin.....

Quick Trip to Yakima

My parents went to Yakima to visit Jordan and watch him perform a violin piece in his Stake Talent Show.  They had 3 extra seats, so the kids and I tagged along.  The kids had so much fun playing with their cousins and have been talking about the trip ever since.  Jordan wrote a little paper about it for a school assignment.  This is his summary of the weekend...all spelling errors have been corrected, as to make it readable to anyone other than Jordan....

"I went to Yakima! My friend was there.  His name is Johnny.  We went to the Kid's Castle.  Johnny showed me how to get to the biggest slide.  We went on the trampolines.  Then we went in the foam.  We played foam fight.  I was covered in foam.  We went back to Johnny's house.  We played the XBox.  Then we ate lunch.  Then we went home.  It was the best day ever!"
