Saturday Outings

The past two Saturdays we've lucked out with nice weather and have been on some fun little outings.  Here we are on a little one-mile hike around Deep Lake....

Megan cracks me up...always posing for the camera

We also went on a bike ride.  Jordan loved riding behind Andrew on his little tailgator.  He felt like he was along for the ride without having to worry about keeping up.  Andrew said that at times he could feel a difference and that Jordan was working pretty hard, pumping his little legs.

I, on the other hand, dragged along this little girl behind me.  She was the little pampered princess and every time I looked back her mouth was full of food.  At one point, she was lying down somehow and even had her feet up.   She also liked to tell me that I needed to go faster to keep up with the boys.

Since I'm usually the one in charge of the camera, I never end up in any of the pictures.  I had Megan snap a quick picture at the turn-around spot to prove, that yes indeed, I do exist!!!

Bolles Family Beach Trip

Luckily we snapped this picture when we first got there because this is the only time Megan set foot on the beach.   The wind was really strong and cold and it was a bit too much for her.....

....as you can see.  The funny thing is that when we asked her what her favorite part was when we got home she said it was walking on the beach!!

The weather was a bit drizzly so luckily we had a lot of indoor activities to keep the kids busy.

Andrew's first crack at a round of golf

A game of kickball at sunset

Very serious second basemen

The dads took the kids to the park....rain or shine, they had to get out!

BIG group hug to say goodbye...my favorite thing about this picture is the look on Megan's face.

I love my mom's expression in this picture...pure joy, being surrounded by all her favorite people at her most favorite place!!!

Easter Weekend

We had a fun Saturday which started out with Andrew and Jordan going to see Star Wars 3D while Megan and I went shopping.  It was the first time Jordan had ever made it through a movie at the theater since the only other time I had tried taking him it was a bit overwhelming for him and we left after 5 minutes.  We figured with it being Star Wars, which he is completely obsessed with right now, it would be safe and the boys had a great time.  After dropping them off, Megan and I ventured to the mall.  Megan was cracking me up the whole time as she would excitedly exclaim, "Look at THAT...I'm going to get that when I'm a big girl!!!!"  over...and....over...and...over again.   We then came home to decorate eggs and have an easter egg hunt.

Waiting patiently in their hiding places while the "Easter Bunny" hid their eggs.

Posing was not in Jordan's agenda.  As you can see, he took this very seriously and always had a sharp eye to see where Megan was.  The funny thing is that she could care less, taking her time and even stopped to eat some candy along the way!

It was the kid's idea to wear their Marianne t-shirts that day.  We had been talking a lot about what Easter is all about and I think it connected in their minds a little more, having experienced death which was a foreign concept to them in the past.  They knew that because of Easter, they could be with Marianne again and wanted to remember her on that day.

Megan set this whole thing up herself.  She likes to be very organized with her things and likes things just right.

This depicts what Easter means to me now, knowing that because of the life, death and resurrection of my Savior, the picture above not only depicts a moment of the past...but also a moment in the future when we will be all together again, never to be separated!!!
