The month of May

Memorial Day weekend is here!!!!  Chinook Pass is open, which means we can finally go to the cabin!!!!  We've been talking about this weekend for weeks....but alas, I am still here.  Andrew and Jordan left for the mountains this morning, but little Miss Megan came down with something and hasn't been able to keep anything down, so we had to stay behind.  She's been sacked out on the couch all day, watching movies and nodding off.  Hopefully she's feeling better soon and we can join the boys and the rest of the family.  It's been a very quiet, low-key day...the perfect kind of day to go through pictures and update the blog.

Movie night...The adventures of Tintin in 3D

As you can see, Megan recently got a haircut since she would never let me do anything with her hair and it was always in her face and getting in her food.  Shortly after I cut it, she then decided she actually DID want clips in her hair...all of them.  This is her beautiful hair creation, which she was so proud of.  My favorite part are the little clips dangling at the very end of her hair on either side.

Jordan had a school performance of the Nanny Goat's Gruff.  He was in the chorus and the whole family has had the words to the songs stuck in our heads..."Nanny goats, 1,2 and 3...Nanny goats, brave as can be"....I could go on and on.

Jordan had his first piano recital and wasn't nervous at all, but was a little surprised when he realized everyone was watching him.  He kept looking around at everyone which got him a little distracted from playing his piece.  This will be the first of many recitals I'm sure, as he loves learning to play the piano and we recently discovered once he started taking lessons that he has perfect pitch.  Every now and then, I'll go plunk out a note on the piano and ask him what it is.  It makes me laugh when I hear him yell from the other room, "That's a D mom!!!"  He still doesn't understand why I think it's so cool...like, what's the big deal, can't everybody do that???  Oh, I wish...how that gift would have helped me in my music dictation classes at BYU.

The rest of these pictures were taken on Mother's day at my parent's house where my mom made a delicious meal to honor the mothers of her grandchildren.  We all offered to help out, but she insisted it was her pleasure to honor us moms who are in the thick of it right now raising all our little ones.  It was a difficult day for her, as it was her first Mother's day since Marianne's passing, but it felt good to be together...like it always does.

A picture of pure delight, complete with a Kool-aid mustache.  I don't think life gets much better than that!!!
