Jordan's Pajama Fiasco

Last night Andrew had quite the experience getting Jordan dressed for bed. I was at Alison's watching her kids for a date trade and Andrew was holding down the fort at our place. When Jordan goes to bed he wears multiple layers because his room gets really cold and he doesn't stay under the blankets. Andrew put a thin set of pajamas on him with 2 warm sleepers on top and thought that would be good enough. However, Jordan had different ideas. He threw a tantrum, screaming that he wanted his sweatshirt and sweatpants because that's what I normally do. The only problem was that Andrew couldn't find the pants. He came up with plan B and put his swimsuit on him with the drawstring cinched up as tight as it could go. Jordan was satisfied and had a big smile on his face when I got him out of bed this morning. He kept talking about his pants and was running around listening to the cool swishing sound they made. I wonder if this will become the new sleeping attire. We shall see tonight.

February Fun

Jordan loves being just like his dad. Whenever Andrew's out working in the garage on his truck Jordan's always right there with him. We got him some tools for Christmas and he loves "fixing" things now. He's always had a fascination with the dishwasher and calls it his "train." You can imagine the delight on his face when he realized that his drill fit perfectly in the wheels.

Megan spends a lot of time in this position. She is getting very close to crawling. She gets on her hands and knees and tries to go forward, but ultimately ends up in this position.

The other day Andrew actually had a day off of school and work, which doesn't happen all that often. It was a beautiful day so we went on a little hike around Deep Lake. It was nice to get out of the house and breathe some fresh air.

We found a toy chest on Craig's list for a great deal. It is Jordan's new favorite hangout spot, surrounded by all of his favorite things.

Jordan came running out of the bathroom the other day so excited to put this shower cap on Megan. He insisted that we all take our turns wearing it...even Andrew. Too bad we didn't get a picture of that. It definately looked the best on Megan!

Jordan's Prayer

Andrew took this video of Jordan praying during Family Home Evening the other night. I love his squeaky little voice, that for some reason is especially high when he prays. As you'll see in the video, sometimes I just can't hold back from laughing because he's just so cute. We had a lesson on sharing, since Jordan has really been struggling with that lately. When Megan touches one of his toys, all of the sudden that becomes his most favorite toy in the world and he runs over and grabs it out of her hand. Sometimes he plays a "not sharing" game with her. He'll put a toy in front of her and then take it away when she touches it. If she doesn't touch it, he'll pick up her hand, put it on the toy and then take it away. It's a good thing that she's still at the age where she doesn't really care what she's playing with. She is getting very close to crawling and then the real fun will begin because she'll be all into his toys. If this is the worst of the problems around here, then life must be pretty good.

Twirly Toes

I thought it's about time for Megan to have a video on here. This little girl must have tired feet by the end of the day because they are always moving. She will absolutely not tolerate having socks on. They must impede her motion too much. When I try to put socks on her she instantly starts rubbing her feet together until she gets them off, then she starts doing her twirly toes. The other day in the store people kept coming up to me saying, "I think you lost something." When I turned around, sure enough, it was a little tiny sock. The first video is her calmer mode and the second one is what we call her "hypermode." She usually does this when she's really excited about a new toy or an interesting sound.
