Snow Day

We were surprised to wake up to snow this morning and had lots of fun playing in it.  As you can see, we made snow angels, built a snowman, made slushies with grape pop and had a snowball fight.  Megan took the last picture and I was surprised when I downloaded the pictures that she actually got a decent shot with people in it.  Usually the pictures she takes are of herself because she turns the camera around the wrong way.

Sick Megan

Miss Megan has been sick for a long time.  After getting over a cold, she came down with a 24 hour case of the stomach flu, which was no fun at all and let's just say it resulted in a full change of clothing and bedding for both her and I in the middle of the night, which Andrew miraculously slept through.  Luckily he's a morning person and took over at the crack of dawn when Jordan bounced out of bed so I could get some much needed sleep.  After getting over the flu she came down with another case of the cold.  This is what I've been seeing the past couple of weeks......

As you can see, she also has a couple of hangnails which she wanted band-aids on.  She wore the band-aids for a few days and would scream whenever I talked about taking them off.  Finally, when they started to smell and I noticed that she was writing with the wrong hand because of them I convinced her that it was time for them to go.

Luckily, we have had some happy moments!!!

Here's a couple of things about Megan that I wanted to document so I don't forget them.
  •   When Andrew's "Street Rodder" magazine came in the mail this month Megan excitedly exclaimed, "Look Mommy, it's Daddy's potty book!"
  • As we were leaving the dentist's office, Jordan accidentally released his balloon they had just given him for being such a good patient.  He became very upset and while he was crying Megan said, "It's okay Jordan, that balloon can be for Marianne."   His tears instantly stopped and he said, "You're right Megan, that's a good idea." As we all watched the balloon rise higher and highter, it just made me smile and shed a little tear at the same time.  I love to hear my kids talk about her even though it makes me sad knowing how very little they actually got to know her.

General Grievous

Here's some shots of Jordan in action doing his General Greivous moves.  He's informed me that he actually needs 4 lightsabers to be a true General Greivous. I'm not sure how he would manage that, but I'm sure he would find a way.  He is one Star Wars crazed little boy!!!

I thought I would get Andrew to take videos of the kids singing during family night since this is one of the most favorite sounds to my ears.

Jordan Turns 6!!!

Jordan turned 6 and had a blast doing it.  He ate his favorite foods, got fun new star wars toys and got to spend time with his friends. He had school on his birthday and I surprised him by going in to help out that day so I could spend time with him.  I sat by him in a little tiny chair and he kept leaning over to me and would whisper in my ear, "Mommy, I love you with all my heart!"  How I love this special boy and am so glad he came into this world 6 years ago!!!
I like how Megan is "helping" blow out the candles from where she's sitting.

Jordan's birthday party with some of his friends.  I love the difference in these 2 pictures.  Once they were all warmed up to eachother, it was all laughs, screaming, wildness and craziness...good thing it was only a 2 hour party!!

Christmas...Better Late Than Never

Seeing how it's nearly February, I figured it's about time to do a post on Christmas.  This year we had no mantel to hang our stockings from because the gas fireplace didn't work and we ended up covering it up with an entertainment center.  We had to get a little creative about what to do with the stockings and came up with the above creation.  Andrew made the whole thing and stayed up extra late on Christmas Eve so it would be ready in the morning.
Our breakfast of cinnamon rolls, egg nog and breakfast casserole was delicious and this was the first time we ever used our china.

They can hardly stand the anticipation as they wait for Andrew to set up the camera so we can take a picture and start our jingle bell parade that leads us to the Christmas tree.
We realized that this was the first time since Jordan was born that we've been able to do the parade without me carrying a baby in my arms.

Meeting Baby Cindy for the first time...love at first sight and have been inseparable ever since!!!
