Megan Pics

Here's the latest pictures of Megan that just prove this little girl has a mind of her own and keeps life very interesting around here...

?????????

???????????

When I go in to Megan's room to check on her after she's fallen asleep, I'm often surprised with what I find. Tonight was one of those nights. I'm not sure what the deal is with the scarf tied around her face...a drippy nose? To block out the light? Who knows? I'm sure she'll have a perfectly good explanation in the morning, at least one that makes sense to her. Silly Megan!!!

Camping with Daddy

Andrew and Jordan went on the spur-of-the-moment camping trip a few weekends ago.  They ate way too much sugar, stayed up way too late and had a little too much fun with the blow torch.  They came home tired, stinky and hungry.  Boys just being boys....

Megan and I on the other hand also ate too much sugar and stayed up late watching Frozen and painting fingernails.  Girls just being girls....

Seahawks Mania

The Seahawks had another awesome season, which led to some serious Seahawks mania here in Seattle.  Andrew got in on the action and made himself this epic beard to wear for the big game.  It took a lot of effort and time on his part and he sacrificed many hours of sleep to finish it on time.  In the end, the Seahawks didn't win the Superbowl this year, due to one bad play in the final seconds of the game.  It was hard to stomach because we were so close to winning, literally one foot away.  Here's to the next season...and more beard-wearing!!!!

Sister's Forever Quilt

Well, the beautiful half-finished quilt my sister started is now hanging on my kitchen wall. It fits there perfectly and looks like it was meant to go there all along. I'm not sure what Marianne's plans were with this quilt...was it meant to give to a friend or family member...was it meant to go on a wall or to be a throw blanket? Those are questions I will never know the answers to, but I'm pretty sure my sister would be pretty happy with where it ended up, and the fact that her little "non-sewer" of a sister finished it for her. I have to admit, it wasn't easy for me and I did a lot of "redos," but the whole experience was very sweet for me.

This quilt wasn't made by my blood, sweat and tears, but I do have to say it was made with a whole lot of love and quite a few tears.......

Christmas Eve

Christmas Recitals

The kids participated in two Christmas recitals this year, Mrs. Haning's piano recital and the recital Alison and I had for our students.  It was Megan's first time performing and Jordan's first time on the cello.  Love hearing these budding musicians....

Decoraing and undecorating the tree....

We had a lot of fun decorating the tree this year and Austin (aka: wrecking ball) did his best at "undecorating" it.  We ended up moving all of the ornaments to the top half of the tree, but I guess I underestimated his reach and determination, because 1 ornament didn't make it through the season.  I saw him snatch it off the tree and with a triumphant look on his face he went running out of the living room with it raised above his head.  As you can see, I didn't catch him in time.  After it smashed, he started clapping his hands and gave me this look that said, "Check out what I did!!!!" Good thing he's so cute....

Scout Campout

Jordan tagged along with Andrew for a teacher's quorum campout to Fort Warden, as I was dealing with a croupy baby and wasn't feeling well myself.  Jordan had a great time and was no trouble to have along, as there were no long hikes, just mainly exploring the cool remains of a fort.

Thanksgiving in Yakima

The Bolles family gathered at Jordan's new place in Yakima for Thanksgiving, as it is the only house big enough to fit us all.  It was a great time had by all, getting off to a good start by a grand feast followed by the Seahawks creaming the 49ers.  We had a talent show (where I unleashed my inner-Ariel and belted out "Part of your World"),  had a family dance, went to an indoor play park, played games, did puzzles, ate lots of good food and laughed our heads off.  I love these family gatherings and how well all the cousins get along and how much fun they have together.  It was indeed a Happy Thanksgiving!!!
